We pride ourselves on our friendly informal atmosphere. We particularly like to encourage the development of innovation skills in students and pioneered the use of creative project work as a teaching method. Our teaching is rated as "excellent" in the most recent Teaching Quality Assessment.
The modern world often requires engineers to cross the traditional boundaries between engineering disciplines and our graduates tend to be very good at this. This is highly valued by employers, and Lancaster graduates are much sought-after by major blue-chip companies.
Our links with industry are good and many students get the opportunity to carry out real projects in local companies.
All staff are involved in state-of-the-art research, and, particularly in the later stages of the course, this influences the material we teach. We offer a wide range of postgraduate opportunities.
We have good facilities on a modern campus, based in one of the most attractive parts of the country. Living is relatively cheap and crime is low. We extend a warm welcome to all.
